Meet Lumi!

Lumi came to Wildlife Haven as a tiny orphaned lynx kitten after her mother was tragically killed by a dog. She was still very young and needed specialized care as she grew, and our team watched her develop from a vulnerable little kitten into the beautiful lynx she is today.

As Lumi grew, it became clear that she would not be able to return to the wild. Her health and circumstances meant she needed a different kind of future, and Wildlife Haven worked to find her a safe place where she could continue to thrive.

In 2026, Lumi made the move to her new home at Assiniboine Park Zoo. While she could not have the wild life we originally hoped for her, she now has an important role as an ambassador for her species, helping people learn more about lynx and the incredible wildlife that calls Manitoba home.

Lumi's story is a reminder of how much care, time and dedication goes into giving orphaned and injured wildlife the best possible chance at a future.
