Wildlife Haven offers on-site presentations and workshops, as well as outreach ambassador programs. Your group will have the opportunity to experience our ambassador animals up close—our permanent residents here at Wildlife Haven.
Learn why these animals are unable to return to the wild and discover how we can all coexist more peacefully with wildlife.
On-Site STEM Workshops for Classrooms
Our experienced educators will bring fascinating props and other unique tools to get your students excited about wildlife. Special appearances by our non-releasable Wildlife Ambassadors make each learning session a one-of-a-kind experience! Please note, workshops are only available at the Murray Education Centre.
Freezin’ Season
As the temperatures start to drop, animals must adapt to the new freezing environment. In this program, Freezin’ Season, we take a closer look at the adaptations that animals must have to endure the changing seasons. Students will get to explore how wood frogs withstand the winter by participating in a fun science experiment! Learn how animals insulate their bodies during hibernation and how migratory animals fly south to escape the cold through a series of hands on interactive STEM activities.

Wetland Ecosystem
While enjoying the fresh air and sun, students will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of Manitoba’s wetlands through a series of interactive activities in our Ecosystems: Wetlands program. Students will become junior microbiologists by taking a closer look at the microscopic world that inhabits our very own man-made wetland at Wildlife Haven, as well as taking a closer look at the larger plants and animals that inhabit Manitoba’s wetlands.

Homes and Habitats
In our Homes and Habitats programs, students will have to think like a bird to build their very own bird nest! They will discover the challenges that nesting birds face by using only material that a bird would find. Next, through an interactive activity students will explore the habitats of some of Manitoba’s native wildlife and will be tasked with identifying what makes a good home for these animals.

Sustainable Living
Discover the value of living a more sustainable life with our Reducing Your Carbon Footprint program. Students will have the opportunity to learn how renewable energy sources are helping to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by building their very own functional wind turbines. Next, they will have the chance to learn how to live a more waste free life by making biodegradable water bubbles, which were invented to provide an alternative to plastic waste, or by turning something old into something new by recycling used paper into new ready to use paper!

Outreach Presentations
Invite us into your classroom! Our Wildlife Ambassadors attend presentations in schools and booths for an experience you or your students will never forget. Get nose-to-beak with one of our live, non-releasable wildlife ambassadors and discover the marvelous adaptations and natural history of these top airborne predators.
On-Site Presentation
Join us at the Murray Education Centre or in our new Amphitheatre for an in-person, one-of-a-kind experience. Get up close and personal with live wildlife ambassadors and learn about the work we do here at Wildlife Haven.
